2024 Annual Comparative Dinner

The Comparative Dinner provides an evening where we get the opportunity to rate the wines presented as we put two of our premium wine regions up against each other for a night of fun, great wines and amazing food pairing.

This year sees a return to the Safety Beach Sailing Club on Saturday 25th May commencing at 6:30pm for pre-dinner drinks and canapes. This will be followed by our blind tasting event where once again we will be treated to a magnificent five course dinner by Chef David Snooks and his team where they will pair their food with the fine wines from two outstanding regions.

For our comparative tasting event this year we will travel to The Henty Region. The Henty wine region has one of the coolest climates of Australia's mainland wine growing regions. Known for its aromatic white wines, luscious sweet dessert wines and wonderfully structured reds

Located in the Southwest of Victoria the Henty Region covers a vast region and deserves its reputation for producing many of Australia’s best Pinot Noirs, Rieslings and Chardonnays. We will compare those wines produced in the Hamilton/Tarrington north east section of the region.

This is truly a unique cool climate area producing elegant and refined wines and will prove a great comparison for the evening given its location and many similarities to Mornington Peninsula. We have some great speakers who will share their knowledge of wine as well as engage in discussions about their the evolution of the respective regions as well as why visiting these regions offers more than just wines and is a must for your to do list.

In what will be a enjoyable and fun evening, we will commence with a Sparkling from Mornington Peninsula on arrival and look to conclude with a Dessert Wine that delivers a subtle and refreshing finish from the Henty Region. During the evening, wines to be compared will be of similar price point and vintage and will be served to match with the accompanied food, designed once again by Chef David Snooks.

Cost is $155* for members and $165* for guests.
